The Moth Story SLAM
The acclaimed Moth Story Hour returns to New Rochelle for ArtsFest with one of its popular Story SLAMs – a live, open mic storytelling competition in which anyone can sign up to share a five-minute story on the night’s theme: Ten lucky audience members, picked at random, vie for the chance to be crowned the night’s StorySLAM champion.
This year the story prompt is “Hope”: Aspiring storyteller are asked to Prepare a five-minute story about HOPE: Unwavering optimism in the face of uncertainty. Tales of resilience and perseverance. A dream come true! Wants, desires, and aspirations. He loves me! I’ll get the job! That stain isn’t that noticeable! and other sunny affirmations. Celebrating the human spirit’s ability to find light in darkness, against all odds.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the show starts at 7 pm. This is a ticketed event with limited seating (last year was sold out) so advance registration is a must.
