Join artist Karen Jaimes, featured in Clay Conversations: Ceramics from the Gilded to the Digital Age, for a free drop-in ceramics workshop just for teens! Learn to create a reproduction of an ancient spout vessel using clay, your hands, and tools. Wear an old shirt or apron—it might get a little messy! All materials provided. Your piece will be glazed, fired, and ready for pickup at the Museum in two weeks.

Karen Jaimes is a Hudson Valley-based artist, activist, and educator who uses clay to address socio-political issues. A Yonkers native, she discovered her passion for art through the Hudson River Museum’s Saturday workshops. She holds a BFA from Manhattanville University and an MFA in Ceramics from SUNY New Paltz. As a ceramics professor at SUNY Rockland, Karen inspires her students to express their voices through clay.
