Rooted in Westchester: REV FEST 250
Get ready for an unforgettable journey back in time as Westchester County proudly presents Rooted in Westchester: REV FEST 250 — a FREE, two-day immersive event marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution! REV FEST 250 will transform Croton Point Park into a vibrant 18th-century world bursting with life, intrigue, and drama. Explore the sights, sounds, and stories of Revolutionary-era Westchester as you encounter patriots, loyalists, spies, tenant farmers, enslaved and free Black soldiers, and civilians — all brought vividly to life by talented reenactors.
Experience the clash of ideals, the courage of ordinary people, and the complexity of a nation being born through family-friendly activities and educational exhibits for all ages, which will include:
Live Music & Dance on Two Stages: Enjoy performances from Sankofa Drum and Dance Ensemble, Daisy Jopling and Indigenous Enterprise, Broadway Rave: A Hamilton Sing-Along, Master Storyteller Jonathan Kruk, and more!
Interactive Encampments & Reenactments: Historical reenactors will portray figures like Benedict Arnold and John André to lesser-known but equally vital characters such as Deborah Sampson, local militia members, women who served as camp followers, and Black soldiers who fought for both liberty and survival.
Hands-On Demonstrations: Experience 18th century life with activities such as blacksmithing, map making, woodworking, and traditional crafts.
Whether you’re a history buff, a curious kid, or just looking for a one-of-a-kind weekend adventure, REV FEST 250 promises a powerful blend of entertainment and enlightenment for everyone!
