Raid the Sanctuary – Orienteering Event
Orienteering is a sport that combines navigation, map reading, and physical endurance. Participants use a detailed map and compass to navigate through unfamiliar terrain, aiming to locate a series of checkpoints (or control points) in the shortest time possible. It is often described as a mix of trail running or hiking with strategic planning and decision-making skills. This can be as competitive as you want; from a nice, relaxed stroll in the woods, to making your competitors eat your dust! It is enjoyed by kids, families, groups, and individuals of all ages. Beginners’ instruction will be available.
