Gallery B: Berenice Pliskin
GALLERY B – SILK PAINTINGS by Berenice Pliskin
Curated by Jill Parry
BERENICE PLISKIN is an artist with a long career as an artist and illustrator. She has worked for many years from her studio in Peekskill and has recently moved her practice to Larchmont, N.Y.
Berenice’s paintings combine her skills with the technique of painting on silk and her experience as an illustrator and storyteller. Her subject matter ranges from her personal observation of people and places and concerns for social justice to mythical images. “I draw from my life experiences and memories and work directly onto the silk”. “The idea that I never know what is coming next is a powerful incentive to my work”
Berenice will be available at the gallery to talk about her technique and stories within each picture on Saturday, April 13, 2:00pm.
