Flamenco Meets NY All Stars Concert
The Town Hall will bring together the most outstanding figures of flamenco, jazz, Latin and African music.
Paco de Lucia’s legacy is spreading among the new generation of flamenco guitarists, who will present their creations at The Town Hall. This event will be a collective concert that will mark a milestone in New York City.
Niño Josele and Rubén Blades, Josemi Carmona and Salif Keita, Antonio Rey and Richard Bona, Pepe Habichuela and a special guest artist.
The event will include dancing by Farruquito, an undisputed figure of flamenco dance; Farru, bailaor who accompanied Paco de Lucía in his last years; and Karime Amaya, a descendant of the great Carmen Amaya.
The program will also include Alain Pérez, a musician who toured with Paco and now has six studio albums and two Latin Grammy nominations; Rafael Riqueni and his outstanding guitar playing; Antonio Sánchez, who continues the Lucía saga; and Silvia Pérez Cruz, with a wonderful version of Leonard Cohen’s Viennese Waltz.
This show is a bridge between musical genres and a celebration of the cultural richness that defines New York.
This concert transcends musical boundaries and shows that flamenco is an intercultural bridge. The Town Hall will be transformed into a melting pot of sounds with a harmonious dialogue between different musical traditions.
